Ceiling cassette systems are composed of an indoor and an outdoor unit. The indoor unit is mounted flush into the ceiling so that it is not obtrusive and is complementary to the appearance of the room. The indoor unit can circulate conditioned air from two, three or four sides of the unit. Ideally they are positioned in a central area of the ceiling so that they promote good range and airflow.

They come in a range of sizes and capacities and are often installed in commercial premises and office buildings however they are also suited to large living-dining areas of the home.

They are mounted between the joists and beams of the ceiling so they require an HVAC professional assess the best location for the unit and to perform the installation.

The Outdoor Unit

The outdoor units for ceiling cassettes are similar in functionality to those of a split system and accordingly need to be positioned in a stable, flat space outside the home where they have appropriate ventilation.
