What is a Package Air Conditioning System?
A package air conditioning system is normally mounted on a roof top or sometimes to the side of the property. The entire system is contained inside a single casing unit. They are a self contained heating and cooling unit.
The casing unit contains fans, a cooling coil, an evaporator, air filters, compressors and a condenser. This unit is connected to the buildings interior via ducting which disperses the treated air.

Unlike other air conditioning systems which use a condensate drain pipe to get ride of residual water from the system, the condensate water from a package air conditioner is extracted using an evaporator coil where it simply evaporates.
Benefits Of Package Air Conditioning Systems
There are a number of benefits to installing a package air conditioning system:
- they are typically cheaper to install
- being roof mounted, they are space saving
- Can be used as a residential or commercial solution
- removable panels on the unit means that maintenance is more easily done
- they have a stronger air conditioning capacity than typical domestic split systems
